Managing your account

Setting up, personalizing, and looking after your MemoCove account.

This guide covers everything about your account — from signing up to adjusting settings, understanding plans, staying safe, and signing out. For how MemoCove works as a product, see the main guide.

Creating an account

MemoCove is on iPhone, Android, and the web at memocove.com, and you can join from any of them:

  • Email and password. Enter your email address, choose a password, and type the six-digit code we email you to confirm it’s really you.
  • Continue with Apple, Google, Facebook, or X. Sign in with an account you already have; no new password to remember.

Either way, you’ll pick your username — your @handle — before your account is created. It’s how people find and mention you, and you can change it later under Me → Profile.

Signing in and out

Sign in with your email address and password, or with the Apple, Google, Facebook, or X account you joined with. Forgot your password? Choose Forgot password on the sign-in screen and we’ll email you a way to set a new one. You can change your email address or password any time from Settings on your phone or Me on the web.

To sign out, open Me, then Settings on your phone, and choose Sign out (on the web it’s right on the Me page). Signing out clears your session on that device; your posts and data stay safe on your account.

Your profile

From Me → Profile you can set your:

  • Username — 4 to 15 letters, numbers, or underscores.
  • Display name — the name shown alongside your @handle.
  • Bio — a short line about you.

Changes appear everywhere as soon as you save.

Avatar and cover image are changed on your own homepage instead: open your profile, tap your cover or your avatar, and choose Change cover or Change photo (with no avatar yet, tapping it opens your photos straight away). On the web, the same two buttons sit on your homepage's cover and avatar. JPEG, PNG, WebP, or HEIC, up to 5 MB each — the new image is saved the moment you pick it. Until you add an avatar, MemoCove shows a simple letter placeholder in a color of its own.

Language

MemoCove is available in English, Simplified and Traditional Chinese, Japanese, Korean, German, French, Spanish, Italian, and Brazilian Portuguese. In settings you can pick a specific language or choose Automatic to follow your device or browser. Each device remembers its own choice.

Appearance

Choose Light, Dark, or System (which follows your device). This preference is kept on each device.

Notifications

MemoCove tells you about the things that involve you: comments and replies, @mentions, invitations to groups or to follow someone, new posts in your groups, and changes in a group you belong to. Notifications wait for you in the app, and on your phone they can also arrive as push notifications — MemoCove asks for permission once, the first time you sign in, and you can turn them on or off any time in your phone’s notification settings. In a group’s settings you can switch off new-post notices for that group while staying a member. For the full picture, see notifications.

Plans: Free and Pro

The Free plan is free for good, and it is enough for everyday sharing. MemoCove Pro is an optional subscription for people who share more:

 FreePro
Posts per day2Unlimited
Photos per post29
Video posts—Yes, up to 30 seconds
Comments per day10Unlimited
Groups (created and joined)5Unlimited

Daily limits reset at midnight UTC, and deleting a post frees up its slot for the day. You can see your current plan and its limits any time under Me → Subscription.

Pro is billed monthly or yearly; the price is shown before you buy. Upgrade from Me → Subscription in the app or on the web. A subscription bought on one platform works everywhere you use MemoCove. To manage or cancel it, go to where you bought it: your App Store or Google Play subscription settings, or Manage subscription under Me → Subscription on the web. Cancelling keeps Pro until the end of the period you’ve paid for, and your posts and groups are always yours to keep, on any plan.

Staying safe

You are in control of what you see and who can reach you:

  • Report a post, comment, account, or group if it breaks the Community Guidelines. Reports are confidential and reviewed by moderators.
  • Block anyone you’d rather not interact with — they won’t see your posts or comments, and you won’t see theirs.
  • Manage blocked accounts from Settings on your phone or Me on the web, where you can unblock someone at any time.

For how these tools are designed, see blocking & reporting.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account yourself, at any time, from inside MemoCove:

  • On your phone: open the Me tab, tap Settings, then Delete account.
  • On the web: sign in at memocove.com, open Me, and choose Delete account.

You’ll type your username to confirm and re-authenticate — with your password, with Apple if you sign in with Apple on an iPhone, or with a code we email you. Deletion is immediate and permanent: your profile, posts, comments, photos and videos, group memberships, and sign-in are removed, and a confirmation appears once it’s done. If you own a group, transfer it to another member or delete it first. Deleting your account does not cancel a MemoCove Pro subscription — cancel that where you bought it (App Store, Google Play, or Manage subscription on the web).

Some records outlast the account. Reports you filed or that concern you, and the moderation decisions on them, stay in our moderation records to protect the community and meet legal obligations. A group you handed to another member keeps the name, description, and cover image you gave it, and @mentions of your username stay as plain text in other people’s posts and comments. A deletion record holding only IDs and times remains so other members’ apps can remove their copies. Copies of deleted data can remain in our database backups and server logs for up to 7 days before they expire. The App Store, Google Play, and Stripe keep their own records of any purchase.

Can’t sign in to delete your account? Email support@memocove.com from the address or with the username on your account, and we’ll take care of it.
