Frequently asked questions

Quick answers to the things people ask most.

Why are there no likes or follower counts?
MemoCove is built to take the pressure out of sharing. Without likes, reposts, or public follower counts, no post is ranked against another and there is no audience to perform for — just everyday moments shared with the people you choose.
Why are there limits on posting and following?
The Free plan’s gentle daily limits and the cap on following keep MemoCove calm and intentional rather than a place to broadcast or grow a following. Most people never reach them; you’ll only see a limit on the rare occasion you hit one, and Pro lifts the daily ones.
How many followers can I have, and what if I’m full?
Each account can have up to 500 active followers, and you can follow up to 500 people. Followers who drift away for a couple of months quietly stop counting, which makes room for new ones automatically — no one is removed or notified. If you’re at your limit but want a specific friend to follow you, you can invite them directly. See followers and the 500 cap for the full picture.
What do Public, Group only, and Private mean — and can I change a post later?
Public posts can be seen by anyone and appear in your followers’ timelines. Group only posts are visible just to you and the members of the groups you add them to. Private posts are visible only to you. You choose this for every post and can change it later from the post’s menu, along with which groups include it. The text and photos themselves can’t be edited after posting — delete and post again if you need to. See posts & visibility.
What are groups, and how do I join one?
Groups are small, members-only spaces for sharing with specific people. You join by accepting an invitation from an admin, by opening an invite link someone shares with you, or by scanning the group’s QR code — you are never added without agreeing. Your posts always belong to you; you simply include them in groups you’re part of. One post can be in up to five groups, and each member sees only the tags of the groups they’re in — see one post in several groups.
Can I control who comments on my posts?
Anyone who can see a post can comment on it, and on your own posts you can delete any comment at any time. Once other people have commented, a post can no longer be made Public (their words would suddenly be visible to everyone), though you can always narrow its audience. If someone is a genuine problem, block or report them.
Can I add a place to a post?
Yes — on your phone, tap Location in the composer to pick a nearby place, search for one, or type your own name for it. The place name and a map link are shown to everyone who can see the post. It’s always optional, and MemoCove only asks for your location when you tap that button.
How do I report or block someone?
Use the menu on a post, comment, or profile to report it (confidentially) or to block the person; groups can be reported from their settings. Blocking is mutual: neither of you will see the other’s content. You can unblock anyone later from Blocked accounts in your settings.
Does MemoCove send push notifications? How do I turn them off?
On your phone, yes — but only about things that involve you, such as comments, mentions, and invitations; never marketing. MemoCove asks for permission once, and you can turn push on or off any time in your phone’s notification settings. New-post notices can be switched off per group in that group’s settings. See notifications.
How do I change the language or theme?
In settings, pick a language (or Automatic to follow your device) and choose a Light, Dark, or System appearance. See the account guide for details.
Is my data private? Do you show ads or sell my information?
No ads, and we don’t sell your personal information. MemoCove collects only what it needs to run, and media links are short-lived rather than permanent public URLs. The Privacy Policy has the full details.
Is MemoCove free? What does Pro add?
Yes — the Free plan is free for good and covers everyday sharing: two posts and ten comments a day, two photos per post, and up to five groups. MemoCove Pro, a monthly or yearly subscription, makes posts, comments, and groups unlimited, allows nine photos per post, and adds video. Upgrade or manage it under Me → Subscription; a subscription bought on one platform works everywhere. See plans.
Can I sign in with Apple, Google, Facebook, or X?
Yes, on every platform — iPhone, Android, and the web — or with an email address and password. The first time you join, you’ll pick a username before your account is created.
How do I delete my account?
On your phone, open Me → Settings → Delete account; on the web, open Me and choose Delete account. You’ll confirm with your username and re-authenticate, and your account and its data are removed immediately. See deleting your account. If you can’t sign in, email support@memocove.com.
