A copy that lives on your device
The MemoCove phone app is local-first: the posts you’ve already seen are kept in a small store right on your device, along with the photos that go with them. The app reads from that store first and reaches the network second, which is the reverse of how most apps work. It is the foundation that makes everything below possible. (The web app talks to the server directly and keeps no copy.)
Why it opens instantly
Because your timelines are already on the device, MemoCove paints them the moment you open it — no spinner waiting on a server, even on a train, in an elevator, or with one bar of signal. A flaky connection makes the app slow to update, not slow to use. The point is that reading your own record of your life should never depend on the weather of the network.
Catching up when you reconnect
When you come back online, MemoCove doesn’t re-download everything. It asks the server only for what changed since it last checked — the new posts, the edits, the deletions — and folds those into the copy it already has. That keeps syncing quick and light on data, and it is why new posts can appear without the app ever feeling like it reloaded. Your timelines simply stay current. Posting itself still needs a connection — the offline copy is for reading.

The app feels instant and works in dead zones, and far less of your activity has to travel back and forth over the network just to read what you’ve already got.
